The problem with loan mods is that 50+% relapse into poor paying habits after the loan mod. So it is up to you to accept the loan mod ONLY if you feel that you can pay the new amount. Also watch out that it isn’t very backend loaded so you are paying an enormous amount at some point in the future.

Also, do not pay up front money for a loan mod.
